  • What is a label printer? Officetronics will help explain!

As many of you might know what is a label printer but we, Officetronics, will gladly explain and help you understand more about printers. You may have guessed it correctly but it is a computer peripheral that prints on self-adhesive label material and sometimes card-stock. Label printers are different from ordinary printers because they need to have special feed mechanisms to handle rolled stock, or tear sheet (fanfold) stock. Many small and large businesses uses such printer, usually when printing out labels for UPS, Fedex, DHL, etc. It is very useful when printing out sticker labels for labeling purposes. When printing on continuous label stock, there is a tendency for the print location to shift slightly from label to label. Registration is a process to ensure the print area within the target media, label printers use a sensor that detects anything between labels which then allows the printer to print aligns correctly with the target media. Label printers have a wide variety of types ranging from desktop, commercial, industrial, portable, RFID readers, applicators, software, and personal. There are wide selection to choose from but most commonly used are desktop, commercial, and personal. Stay tuned for more information from Officetronics on printers and other products.
